Cellist
 

Justin Lewis first picked up the cello at the age of three.  Taking the lead from his mother and grandmother who were both cellists, Justin quickly took a liking to the instrument and gave his first public recital at age six.  This year, Justin is completing his masters degree in cello performance and is soloing with The Central Pennsylvania Symphony and the Penn State Philharmonic with The Dvorak Cello Concerto in B Minor. Throughout this season, Justin has performed throughout Germany, Hungary, Brazil and the United States and this coming year he is planning to tour Russia and Eastern Europe. 

A recent graduate of Temple University's Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, Justin graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree in Cello Performance and a minor in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising.  Justin has toured with Christoph Eschenbach and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Academy Orchestra, served as principal cellist of the National Orchestral Institute in Washington, D.C. and principal cellist of La Festival Orquesta Juvenil de las Americas in San Juan, Puerto Rico  He has recorded a chamber music album entitled Through Window's Lattices for the Centaur Label.   He has also appeared on a series of broadcasts of Music and the Spoken Word with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.  In State College, Justin performs with the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra
